Creating A Rhythm of Harvest

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Proverbs 11:24

“Life is a boomerang, you receive more than you give…it always comes back to you.”

Of all the things you can ever do to open up your life, nothing has the ability to open your way like giving. Nothing makes a destiny happen and changes a man’s level like giving. The very foundation of our Christian faith is giving. We were saved because GOD dared to give His only begotten son. Men and women had to lay down their lives for the gospel to come to you and I. They gave, so you and I can be redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

You and I are alive today because there is something we are giving, that leaves our bodies back to our environment. The day any man stops releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and waste products that are not useful to the body, after a period of time, that man becomes a dead man.

There was famine in the days of Elijah and there was a widow who had a son and a last meal which she wanted them to eat and die. She gave that meal to the Prophet. She gave her way out of famine and death. She gave her way out of lack. She gave her way out of dryness to plenty and her story changed drastically (1 Kings 17:9–16).

Giving is work. It is a project of faith that can turn famine seasons into seasons of abundance and plenty. It is the exercise covenant men and women must do if they must prosper in life. 2 Corinthians 8:1-2 says“Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of GOD bestowed on the Churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

We see the Churches in Macedonia who even though were in deep poverty, kept giving. I believe there must have been something they knew about giving and coming out of lack. They understood that to come out of lack, you must give. Essentially, you give, not because you have, but because you are a giver. Giving is commanded if you must come out of lack. When what you have is not enough, that is a reason to give.

GOD is not a taker! When He places a demand on your seed, it is because:

  • He wants to command men to give to you“…good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom…” (Luke 6:38).
  • He wants to give you a mighty harvest in famine“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest…shall not cease (Genesis 8:22).”

Like the four lepers in 2 Kings 7:3-4, if you keep the small that you have, it will still not be enough, your way out of “barely enough” into “more than enough” is to get busy sowing so you can create your rhythm of harvest in famine..

Just Do It

  • Develop a routine of strategic and quality giving.
  • Thank God consistently for opportunities and provisions to be a blessing.

Ponder Points

Your giving today will bail you out of something tomorrow.

Prayers

  • My Father and my GOD, let the giving grace rest mightily upon me from today, in the Name of JESUS
  • Oh GOD, show me the way out of this famine and release me into a life of plenty forever.
  • Let every stopper of my harvest released from the pit of hell against me and my harvest be destroyed, in the Name of JESUS.
