Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Acts 2:37
Contextually, our Scripture was the response of the people to the preaching of Peter on the day of Pentecost. However, it is so relevant to us today. Notice, they said “…what shall we do?” We need to know what we must do. People run around just being satisfied with the fact that they have a destiny. They confess it. They feel grateful to God for revealing their destiny to them. I have no problems with all of that, but the moment you come to terms with or have an understanding of your prophetic destiny, there are four things you MUST do –
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Remember, you can abort or frustrate your prophetic destiny. Paul here, in my own words, is simply saying “I behave myself let I blow it.”
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
Prophecies are weapons of war. The prophecies concerning your destiny are for warfare in dealing with everything that is contrary. Engage those prophecies in prayers, strong declarations, confessions and meditations.
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
As with your salvation, so with your destiny. You must work it out. Every time I read this passage of Scripture, the picture in my mind is one trying to work out a mathematical equation. Your prophetic destiny is like that. You have to solve it. It is your responsibility.
These are four non-transferable things you must do. Prophecies do not just fulfill themselves, you have a role to play. One thing is sure, if God has spoken, the devil and all the demons in hell cannot stop it.
YOUR DECLARATION
Today I declare – I have an enviable destiny. God has blessed me with all that I need to bring it to pass. I therefore arise on my inside with greater strength and vigour, with power and might, in the pursuit of the same. I will do all that I must do, and I will see all that God has ordained for me to see. I shall never fall by the wayside nor fail by any means. I am a person of destiny. This day, destiny happens for me.
