But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
And in the fourth watch of the night JESUS went unto them, walking on the sea.
And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
But straightway JESUS spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
Matthew 14:24-27
JESUS came to His disciples walking on the sea in the fourth watch of the night. They panicked, cried out, became terrified; and the Master responded, “It is I; be not afraid.”
In the journey of destiny, everyone will at one point or the other be face to face with events, developments, situations and circumstances that could make you afraid. And all too often we conclude it must be the devil at work. However, the God with whom we have to deal with is a God whose ways are past finding out. It is not always the devil, sometimes it is God; absolutely, God doing His thing. The disciples misjudged what was going on. They said it is a ghost. JESUS said, “No, It is I.”
Joseph could have misjudged the events of his life. But when he arrived Egypt and became the Prime Minister, he realized it had been God all the while. He said to his brethren “And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.”
Indeed, His ways are past finding out. Are you facing a storm? Does it look like the devil has been messing up lately in some way? Listen, it may not really be the devil after all. God is up to something. It’s the Author of your destiny in motion.
