Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:
2 Chronicles 32:7
In your quest towards fulfilling destiny, winning in life or being a person of exploits you will be confronted time and again with fears and threats. Situations that will want to make you stop in your tracks because you are afraid, sometimes even for your very life.
When Moses sent 12 spies to spy out the Promised Land, 10 of them surrendered without a fight. The opposition appeared to be totally overwhelming, so they thought to themselves that going against the giants was a suicide mission. This is where courage becomes an absolute necessity. Understand, courage is not the absence of fear, rather it is making moves inspite of your fears. It is facing your fears and damning the consequences. It is strength in the face of pain or grief.
Esther, when she had to go before the king, contrary to the law in seeking deliverance for the Jews, said “If I perish, I perish.” That is courage. Esther 4:16. But that is what it took for her to fulfill he purpose.
Too many have failed in life and destiny because of fear. Countless others have compromised, surrendered, backed out and even resigned to fate because they were afraid. This is such a tragedy. God told Joshua again and again in Joshua chapter 1 to be courageous, meaning, he will have numerous opportunities to back off, be intimidated or frightened by enemies he will face. This is exactly His word for you today – Be courageous. Be courageous. Be courageous.
