Looking unto JESUS the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
Today, it is not uncommon to see many destinies, taxiing on the tarmac of destiny, overstaying their welcome on the runway of life, yet never taking off. Men meant for the top, on board a flight, making movements, but having no progress to show, making movements, but never get to where they should be. These people end up as mediocre and never-do-wells, meanwhile, their place is at the top. The reason is not far-fetched, it is because their ways have been closed.
The opening of man’s way is not automatic, ways are only opened when you have the right keys. Keys talk about power, the power to do and undo. As a key locks and open in the natural, even so it is in the spiritual, when you have the right keys, you can lock and open any door. One of the fundamental keys used in opening a man’s way is the key of vision, which is the ability to see, to become obsessed with and pursue the future.
We see the operations of vision in the verse, because of the future JESUS saw, He endured the cross and despised the shame. This is not so today because many are unable to clearly see their future, the future for them is uncertain and under probability. The question is, what future do you see? Because, if you can see the future, you will go the extra mile to pay the price.
In dealing with us and making our lives happen, God’s pattern always, is to show you and I the future.
The promise of God to us in Scriptures is God setting the future before us and it will only happen when it becomes our all-consuming desire. It is not enough to see the future, it is more important that you desire its fulfillment.
