When I caught this light some years back, I knew that as long as I live, the Presence of God is my MOST TREASURED ASSET. I knew that even if the whole world came up against me, if I have God backing me up, I am made for life. It doesn’t matter what everyone may be saying, if you can hear what God is saying, what others are saying won`t mean anything. Don’t tell me what people have said, tell me what God is saying. But you can only hear God clearly when you have cultivated the habit of consistently spending time in His Presence.
It doesn’t matter the season of life you are in, what matters the most is what God is saying. What matters the most is that which He declared to you while you were in His Presence. Sometimes we get busy minding people and in so doing, we give room for doubt and fear to grow in our hearts. We become less sensitive to God and to His Word. We become vulnerable to the enemy’s assaults.
The daughter of Jairus, one of the rulers of the synagogue, was at the point of death. And so he sought for JESUS to lay His hands on her. On his way to Jairus’ house, he was told not to trouble the Master any further because his daughter had passed on. Thank God the Master was there Himself, for when JESUS heard it, He said, “…Be not afraid, only believe” – Mark 5:36. And that was it; the Presence of the Master settled it. You can never lose any battle when the Presence of God is with you. Even when the case has been written off, sealed, and forgotten, just one Word from the Master and everything will turn around. That is the only guarantee you need.
What have they said to you? – The door is shut. The contract is suspended. The admission is deferred. The business deal is closed. The vacancy has been taken. The relationship is over. There is no way out. The affliction is terminal. The case is irreversible. I can hear JESUS saying to someone now, “Be not afraid, only believe.” In other words, “Nothing has happened.”
When you spend time in His Presence, you will hear His voice. He will speak to you; His voice always brings direction. His voice speaks comfort. His voice brings light in the midst of darkness. Too many issues get solved in His Presence. Are you confused about certain things in your life? Just learn to spend time in His Presence and you will hear Him speak away the confusion. His voice is the only Voice of hope, the only Voice of light, the only Voice of direction, the only Voice of strength that can bring you out without a scratch.
