BEWARE OF DESTINY STOPPERS
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Proverbs 13:20
By God’s design, man was created for interdependency. No man is made to succeed alone. Even JESUS while on earth could not succeed in His earthly ministry without men. In His most desperate moment at the garden of Gethsemane, one of His greatest cries was for men who would watch with Him.
Two men may find themselves in the same kind of challenging situation but the truth remains that the quality of people in their lives will determine if they will come out of that situation or sink by it. Friend, there will be times in your life when all you need to break through, scale new heights, succeed in life and make the right choices in the face of life threatening issues will be the quality of the company you keep. A wise man once said, you will remain where you are today in the next five years except you watch the company you keep. If you are not challenged to improve the quality of your life by the time you are done talking with your friends, you are in a wrong company. If what you discuss when you are in the company of your friends are vain and carnal things, you are in a wrong company.
Wrong friends will stop you from making progress. Their singular assignment is to pull you out of the faith and make a shipwreck of your destiny. Check it, every successful man in this kingdom are men of few but highly productive and valuable friendships. This is your life, it is not a rehearsal; start choosing your friends wisely knowing that your life can never be better than the level of the company you keep.
