Don’t Stop At The Wrong Bus Stop

And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto JESUS, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

Luke 9:33

“The greatest enemy of today’s success is yesterday’s success and the enemy of tomorrow’s success is today’s success.”

Peter, out of the euphoria of the moment and ignorance said, “In essence, let us end our journey of destiny here.” Before you wonder why he did a thing like that, let us consider the experiences he had.

Moses and Elijah appeared to them there on the mount. And while there also, JESUS was transfigured before them. So Peter, James and John, in that place, had the very unique privilege of seeing the revelation of the glory of the former house (which Moses and Elijah represented); and the Glory of this present house which is Christ. However, there is the glory of the latter house which the Bible speaks about. Now, that latter house is referring to you and me. 2 Corinthians 6:16b

“…as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Peter wanted to end his journey of destiny in the place of the past and present glory never stepping into the future and manifesting destiny. God told me, “This is the real problem that I have with my people. They look backward to the great things I did in the days of their fathers and they want Me to repeat it in their days. Others look around at what I am doing now and that becomes their desire. Very few bother to look into My Word to see what I want to do and come into alignment with me to bring it to pass.” I weep at the thought of realizing that too often, we stop at the wrong bus stops without knowing. Men may applaud us, we may be tagged super achievers whereas we are failures in the school of destiny. The greatest enemy of today’s success is yesterday’s success and the enemy of tomorrow’s success is today’s success. There is a future before you. It is glorious, something eyes have not seen, and something ears have not heard.

Just Do It

  • Fix your eyes and your heart on it. Never look back. Never waver. Don’t be taken in by the present glory. Hebrews 11:9-10

Prayers

  1. In the Name of JESUS, I refuse to stop at the wrong bus stop in my journey of destiny.
  2. Father, teach me by the Spirit how to stay focused on my ultimate destination as Abraham did.
  3. I decree in the Name of JESUS, I shall not be a victim of distractions.
  4. Oh God, take me by Your Mighty hand to Your ultimate height for me.
