Return to Godliness

The focus of the average believer today is on material gains
For them to engage in anything whether in the kingdom or secular world they will ask, “What is in it for me?”
If there is no material gain, it holds no attraction for them

This is why in the body of Christ today:

Material possessions are used to define who a successful Christian is Luke 12:15
The church in our days has elevated the doctrine of gain, pointing worshipers to self-preservation rather than dying to self. Matthew 16:24-26
The testimonies in our churches today are all about the mundane things God has done for them.
Christians gather in churches, conferences, and solemn assemblies, praying and seeking God for mundane and materials things at the expense of their spiritual growth and maturity Matthew 6:31-32
At the root of strife, envy, jealousy and quarreling in the church is the pursuit of gain 1 Tim 6:3-5

HOW DID THE BELIEVERS GET HERE?

· Whatever the leadership of the church projects to the people from the altar, that is what they worship. What you constantly behold, you ultimately become.

· The church bought into the lies of Satan and ran with his doctrine of gain, carnality and material acquisition.

· You can’t pursue gain and not compromise – telling of lies, cutting corners, engaging in fraudulent activities.

HEAR ME From the beginning it was not so, we can change the narrative in our time, we can redirect the focus of the believer to embrace godliness again.

WHAT IS GODLINESS? Godliness is how much of God you have become. From the beginning, God created man in His image and likeness. Genesis 1:26-27. Man lost this nature when he fell. Christ came to restore man back to that original nature. Colossians 1:13. It follows that a successful man is one who has progressively and successfully become more and more like God.

Godliness is profitable unto all things. It happens when you resolve to be like God in conduct, character, in word. 1 Tim 4:7-8

In pursuing after godliness, you must look at all the qualities and attributes of God and diligently seek to posses them and walk in them practically all your life. Galatians 5:22-24 In so doing, questions like;

· God is love; how much of God’s love have I internalized?

· God is a blesser; to what degree am I a blessing to my world?

· God is holy, kind, longsuffering, meek; to what degree are these qualities of God operating in my life?

· God is all powerful; has never lost a battle. His kingdom is not in word but in power. How much of God’s power are you exercising to be a solution to your world? You can’t be godly and be a victim like everyone else in the world 1 Cor 2:4, Psalm 66:3

UNDERSTAND

· Our redemption and salvation came on the ticket of sacrificing self and laying down one’s life John 15:13

· Jesus recommends the same for everyone that must be His disciple Luke 14:33, Mark 10:21-22

· The saints of old followed this pattern Phil 3:4-8, Acts 4:34-35

· We cannot claim to be Jesus’ disciples and follow any other pattern. We must contend for this faith that was once delivered to us. Jude 1:3.

PRAYERS

1. O God, engrace us wherever we find ourselves to show forth the light of truth, stronger than ever before in the name of Jesus

2. Father, may my life count for much as I partner with You in making Your dream happen on the earth in this season.

WINNING THE BATTLES FOR YOUR CHANGE OF LEVEL

WINNING THE BATTLES FOR YOUR CHANGE OF LEVEL – Phil 3:13-14; Zech 1:21

PROPHECY: What you are going to see now is going to make nonsense of whatever you had seen before. Things are falling into place so fast for your change of level, in the name of Jesus.

Life is an exercise in constantly changing levels. No two years should leave you at the same level 1 Cor 13:11, Prov 4:18. Most cases of boredom, frustration, envy, jealousy, backbiting and bitterness are traceable to failure to constantly change level. If you are busy changing levels, you cannot be bored because the excitement of life is in the moving. Those fighting for their change of levels lack the time to engage in backbiting, gossips etc. John 5:5-7.

Every time you make excuses, you are certifying yourself a failure. You cannot succeed in life blaming people. You must be vigorous and consistent in changing level otherwise you will never arrive your destination and fulfil your destiny Genesis 26:13.

For anything to stop you from changing levels, it has grounded your life and aborted your destiny Hosea 7:8-9, I Corinthians 10:7. For 40 years, the people ate, drank and rose up to play, not working to change levels; they were there at the same spot. Then Joshua came onboard and said to them, “In three days, we will cross this Jordan!”. In other words, play time is over. It is time to change levels and go forward. If you walk with players, they will make a game of your destiny, future and fortunes.

In destiny, a change of level is not a gift you receive; it is series of battles you fight, win and obtain the victory. Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. I John 5:4 You don’t wait for your level to change you work it out, fight and win.

PRINCIPLES FOR WINNING THE BATTLE AND CHANING IN YOUR LEVELS – Judges 11:1-11; 30-36
1. Develop capacity, be outstanding in something and for something that is relevant and you won’t be cheaply replaced. Jephtha was an outcast, yet the city went to him because he had developed capacity in something that made him a necessity and an attraction.

2. Know that warfare is an opportunity to rewrite your story and change your level. Jephtha knew he was fighting the battle of his life. He used the situation as an opportunity to rewrite his story and change his level from an outcast to a King. You must see opportunity in every warfare because there is always the possibility of promotion after examinations.

3. Covenanting with God is your guarantee for victory. Psalms 33:17 Covenant practitioners see covenant results in whatever they do. Satan is constantly working to ensure you don’t change level by using your flesh to interfere and try to stop you from practicing the covenant. This is why practicing covenant by itself is warfare.

4. Make every change of level battle a battle of your life; do not be casual about it. Go to war on your knees in prayers for your change of levels. Warfare involves strong discipline in resisting your flesh.

PRAYER
1. In the name of Jesus, I break free from the spirit of rest and the spirit of complacency unto bondage.
2. Father, show me the steps I must take, the direction I must go, the adjustments I must make for my level to change, in the name of Jesus.
3. Father, let me not know rest until I make my change of level happen, in the name of Jesus.
